WHO WE ARE

We spend most of our time banging on about fish, but it’s worth saying hello to the humans who are making it happen under the water.

We could tell you our hobbies and star signs and death row meal (frisbee and Aquarius and mum’s lasagna, for the record), but we think it’s more important to say that all of us sincerely care about our planet, our ecosystems and the people and animals who live in them.

Our mission is to protect the oceans and encourage others to jump in the boat with us. So if you’re a plant-based food enthusiast, an ocean welfare charity or an enormously rich altruist with a soft spot for the sea, get in touch for F*SH sake.

OUR VOYAGE

NOT TO POINT (FISH) FINGERS OR ANYTHING, BUT TASTY AS F*SH IS ALL ZUBIN'S FAULT

After being born in Japan of Indian descent, and raised in Singapore before studying in the US and then living in London, Zubin’s seen a lot of the world and he’s always wanted to help make it a better place to be. After working in international trade and health sciences, Zubin decided to turn his attention to global malnutrition by founding a food company that aimed to feed the world responsibly. The only trouble was, he had no idea how to start a food company.

Luckily for Zubin, he met Lou, a food wizard (official title) who had just emerged from years in the depths of a Nestlé laboratory and was given the challenge to make a plant-based tuna that was as tasty as F*SH. He also found Ben, our resident ‘Dutchy’ and CEO who’d spent most of his career drinking smoothies and was more than ready to turn his attention from fruit to vegetables.

Zubin, Lou and Ben all have a different motivation for making Tasty as F*SH work. Zubin wants to fight global malnutrition. Lou wants to improve our food systems. Ben is passionate about the wellbeing of animals and the planet (and he can’t spend any more time thinking about smoothies). Different people with different brains and wildly different accents, but all united by a common goal to feed the world responsibly and make great seafood alternatives to help them do it.

Agua Foods is a food start-up spanning across Singapore, London, and Amsterdam that is on a mission to feed the world responsibly, through tasty, nutritious, and affordable foods. Our multicultural background and by making exhaustive use of the product development ecosystem of Singapore, and the brand and protein ecosystem of The Netherlands, we try to blend the best of the East with the best of the West.
